Hey everybody. I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with Extreme Shock Ammo. Anything negative or positive that you could tell me would be appreciated, thanks.

The Extreme Ammo is expensive but if you need to protect your life from the BG, then Extreme is the way to go.

There is actually so little difference between the "street effectiveness" of most true "Premiun" types of handgun ammo that the discussion is mostly academic.

Extreme Shok
Silvertip
Ranger
Golden Sabre
XTP
Gold Dot,
and about a dozen more, will all work just about equally well if the bullet is placed properly.

A 2,000 pound, laser-guided JDAMS won't work at all if the operator misses the target.

Welcome to the Forum.Extreme Shock ammo means it falls in the class of ammo made for self defense or SD.And what our moderator above means is that most good sd ammo is just that-well made ammo usually with higher powder charge and most likely a hollowpoint bullet or some similar bullet intended to do the job you need it to should you be faced with a situation where you are protecting yourself or others.Any of the following companys make good sd ammo:Winchester,Hornady,F ederal and Remington and others of course.I haven't heard anything in particular that the Extreme Shock is brand is any better than anything else but have heard no complaints either. As one person suggested, you can do an online search for ballistics testing results for the kind you are looking at.The FBI tests ammo and there are independent people who test but bear in mind a test is just a test. And pray you never have to point and shoot at anyone anyway,so don't get dragged into these little differences between which brand is better.

I was not beating the drum for extreme ammo in my earlier post, only stating a negative (high price) and something positive (advertised as more effective stopping power).

I tend to agree with other replies stating where you hit is more important than with what you hit.
