My comment about the "unknown enemy" is my opinion; our miitary is doing a great job; private militias, with many different agendas concern me.

Living right "next door" to Montana, I share your concerns about private militias.

Guys that feel the need to drive jeeps with long CB antennas, and "minuterman" decals on the door to go to the convenience store for milk, wear cammies to work, and even to church, and carry an AR, or AK around in plain view to "prove" their manhood, make me very uneasy.

myself personally... id wear my camo pants and gun openly every where i went just because i love camo and my gun. not to prove a point to any one. secondly the enemy you speak of. the enemy is supposed to be any tyrannical person or people that deny one or more people their unalienable rights found in the consitution. if that means the baker down the street then its the baker down the street. if its the supreme czar of amerika... then it shall be him. the purpose of the militia as a whole is a defensive posture. so therefore who ever "they" are must attack in some way physical or verbal before we verbally or physically attack them. so if the damn baker denies me my 1st amendment right for some odd reason by telling me to shut up i contact a lawyer or i have a protest in front of his shop.
if its the man in the house of white and he sends atf arseholes to everyones door to confiscate weapons then well... you make up your mind. i aint giving mine up with out a fight. ill either shoot or ill see you in court. your choice. and i dont think ill get the court option. you handin your guns over? maybe so. the second amendment clearly defines that the right of the to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. our ancestors shot back when their weapons were being confiscated in 1775 shortly before the "SHOT HEARD ROUND THE WORLD" which by the way is a great music video if anyone remembers school house rock.

alot of you will say thats not how things work. and in the eyes of many you would be considered "loyalists". im not kidding. ya'll should really read some of these sites and check it out. its great stuff. any who i know thats not how things work... but its what must be done if we are to see things ran they way they should be. i think i went a little over board there maybe. i tried to be as non political as possible while still getting to the point. anymore questions boys fire them at me.

Well, according to the FIRST Amendment, we're all entitled to express out opinions, within reasonable limits!

I wont get to involved in this topic other then to say that joining a militia is a good way to get yourself ATF'ed in the keister. They watch those guys like hawks, praying to catch one of them slipping so they can eat away at our rights just a little bit more. Every time they air a story about some guy shooting up a building and forget to run the one about the guy who defended himself legally, constantly breeding insecurity in our larger population. Our recent generations are all to willing to trade freedom for security.

I think everything that can be reasonably said on this topic/thread has been said, usually 2 or 3 times. Since no new gun related information is coming out, and it's a very contentious topic, not really directly related to guns, I'm going to close it.

Anyone feel free to open a new threads regarding guns suitable for militia use if you wish, but let's try to keep it primarily about the guns.

PLEASE NOTE: I AM NOT CLOSING THIS THREAD BECAUSE OF ANY PARTICULAR POST, OR ANY COMMENT BY ANY INDIVIDUAL.

It's just a little too far off topic. Thank you for your understanding.
