O.K., so how do you score one of these? I get the 5/8/10, but the targets I'm looking at have a tally box to tally the 5, 8, and 10 x the number of hits and you subtotal those point, then there is a "Less Penalties" section (looks like you multiply 10 x # of penalties, and deduct that from the subtotal to get "Total Points". Then there is the "X" section...But what is this, the number of times you hit the center circle?? Another little line under that for another "Less Penalities" and then the last box is Total "X"....

So what is "X" worth, and how does it figure into the total score?? What are some examples of penalties?? I know nothing about competing but looking at these targets has my curiosity.....

The "X" is used to break ties. Penalties would be missing hits on target, procedure errors such as engaging targets in the wrong order or shooting from the wrong location etc.

Bianci targets are great. but if ya really want some fun, take a look at:

www.speedwelltargets.com

They offer a wide variety, including some very interesting realistic targets.

You're right! Some good stuff there. I'll have to explore them more closely next time I'm buying. I'm interested in the Bianchis because I'd like to do the NRA handgun qualification course.
